Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- February 02, 2006   (Not Rated)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

This will be the last FOTD for 5 days.   But do not be alarmed.   I will simply be out of town during that time, purchasing the New Fractal Central and making contacts in central Pennsylvania.   The next FOTD will appear in its full glory on February 7.

Today's image is a Julia set of the Z^(1.3)+C Mandeloid as it appears a full 52 levels up the infinite spiral.   When rendered in the normal manner, the image consists of a single empty black hole.   The entire sawtooth effect of today's image was achieved by rendering the scene with the inside set to 'fmod'.

In keeping with the recent trend, I gave today's image neither name nor rating.   The render time of just under 6 minutes may be avoided by downloading the completed GIF image from the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

Partly cloudy and chilly weather here at Old Fractal Central on Wednesday kept the fractal cats close to home base all afternoon.   When they wandered inside, they appreciated the treat of tuna that was waiting.   My day was very busy; the next 4 days will be equally busy.   When the next FOTD appears on February 7, we will be the owners of the New Fractal Central.   Until five days have passed, rest easy, and stay calm.
