Fractal of the Day

Jim Muth's fractal image in GIF format (640x480).

FOTD -- January 25, 2006   (NO RATING, NO NAME)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is a Julia set of the Z^1.3+C Mandeloid as it appears 34.5 levels up the log spiral.   It has almost but not quite X-axis symmetry.   The image consists totally of outside 'stuff'.

Since I put almost no effort into its creation, the image has neither name nor rating.   But if it were rated, it would earn a 7 or 8.   Those who prefer names may call it something like 'prickly pear fractal'.

The lightning-fast parameter file makes rendering a joy.   Downloading the completed image from the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
is also quite enjoyable.

Sunny mild weather and generous tuna kept the fractal cats happy on Tuesday.   Too much to do kept me too busy for a pleasant day.   The next FOTD is due in 24 hours.   Whether it appears is another question.   I forecast an 85-percent chance of its appearance.   Until next FOTD, take care, and fly with eagles.
