Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- January 19, 2006   (NOT RATED)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's quickie fractal has neither name nor rating.   It is a Julia set of a valley of the Z^1.3+C Mandeloid as it appears pi levels down the spiral.

No special rendering methods were used.   The image consists entirely of everyday equal-iteration-bands.

Rendering as it does in just over one minute on my 200mhz machine, the image will try no one's patience.

In addition to being viewed by running the included parameter file, the image may be viewed by downloading it from the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

Morning rain and biting winds in the afternoon kept the fractal cats fully confined to quarters here at Old Fractal Central on Wednesday.   The work kept me confined to my desk.   Finding the fractal took all of 12 minutes.   The next FOTD will probably appear in 24 hours.   If it doesn't, it will appear in 48 hours.   Until next time, take care, and walk with the galaxies.
