FOTD -- December 29, 2005   (Rating 2)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

I rarely post a FOTD that rates as low as today's 2, but when I put only 3 minutes into finding a fractal and 30 seconds into coloring it, what else could be expected?

Today's image, for what it is worth, is a scene in a valley of the fractal that results when negative portions of Z^(-1.5) and Z^(-6.6) are combined and (1/C) is added.

I named the scene "Tan Tank".   The color theme is tan, which is not one of my favorite colors, and the rating tanked.

Luckily, the render time of under 6 minutes means that little time will be wasted running the included parameter file.   Of course, if time is a total illusion, there is nothing to save.   But that's another story.

For the convenience of those with uncooperative computers, the finished image will soon be fully rendered and posted on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

Partly cloudy skies and a relatively mild temperature of 48F 9C here at Old Fractal Central on Wednesday gave the two fractal cats enough outdoor time to keep them happy.   A stray cat was in the yard when Tippy emerged from the door, but the stray ran like **** when he saw Tippy.   Little tuna was needed at the end of the day to insure contentment.   My day was unexpectedly busy, and the next two or three days will be repeats, which is why there will be no further FOTD's until January 3.   Until then, take care and try to think of the answer.
