Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- December 28, 2005   (Rating 5)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is a scene in a valley of a fractal that was found hurriedly by the evolver feature of Fractint.   This explains the unusually precise parameters.   The name "Blue Galaxy" came to mind as I studied the image with my mind shut off.   (It's a good trick, but no one noticed a difference.)   The rating of 5 might be a bit disappointing, especially for an image that takes 1/2 hour to finish.   Salvation from boredom is at hand however on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
where the image is posted for easy download and enjoyment.

Holidays always get my philosophical juices flowing, and this is the peak time of year for holidays.   So expect some enlightening words of true wisdom within a week, or, depending on one's point of view, some confused and misleading blather.

Except for a wet Sunday, conditions were passable here at the old Fractal Central over the past several days.   The cats made the most of things, aided by extra generous servings of tuna.   For me the holidays went acceptably well, but the work is again piling up, and it will take a couple days to get things under control.   The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and could atoms be made of thought?
