Fractal of the Day

FOTD -- December 09, 2005   (Rating 7)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

What comes after the son of the fractal?   Why, the grandson of the fractal, of course.   And unlike so many junky movie sequels, the third in the series is better than both of its predecessors.

Today's image is the last venture into 'The Fractal'.   Once again, we find the scene lurking where the critical top fractal overlaps the non-critical fractal beneath.   True, we went deeper than we should to find the scene, making the mathtolerance entry necessary, but the image still renders in a relatively fast 7-1/2 minutes.

The image has been named "Grandson of the Fractal" so that everyone will know that it is the third of its line.   The rating of an above-average 7 is what I think the image is worth.

The finished GIF image is available on the FOTD web site at:

Temperatures that never rose above freezing spoiled the sun here at Fractal Central on Thursday.   The fractal cats checked the temperature then decided to spend the afternoon on their warm comfortable shelf by the window.   My day was uneventful.   The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and be ready for the best.
