FOTD -- August 23, 2005   (Rating 6)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's little fractal diversion returns us to the vicinity of yesterday's image.   But today, we ventured just a small distance farther from East Valley of the large central Mandeloid to do our searching.   What we found is a scene that much resembles yesterday's image, but with more brilliant coloring.   The color alone raises the rating to a 6.

When I named the image, I had just seen a 'Croc Hunter' episode on TV.   Maybe I'm watching a bit too much 'Croc Hunter', for I named today's image "By Crickey", an exclamation often uttered by the host.   It's not much of a name, but at least it's better than 'Gorgeous!' or 'Danger! Danger!'.

Such a minor fractal should be reasonably fast.   Today's image is more than reasonably fast.   Render times rarely come faster than the 1-1/2 minutes required for today's image to finish.   For convenience, the image, already finished, is posted to the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
from where it may be downloaded in about the time it would take to render.

Sun and a temperature of 88F 31C, made the weather near perfect on Monday here at Fractal Central.   It also made for very happy cats, who spent the entire afternoon lurking in the holly patch, guarding their territory or doing whatever they do when they lurk there.   This morning is again starting near-perfect, which can mean only another great day for the dynamic duo.   For me, the work waits, but it is an amount that I can easily keep under control.   The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and my answers to the big questions about life will certainly appear goofy.   But will they be goofy enough?
