FOTD -- July 16, 2005   (Rating 3)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

It is 4:05pm.   Today's FOTD is late due to a heavy storm and power outage from noon until 3:30pm.   But things are now back to normal.

I am disappointed with today's image.   When I first saw the parent fractal, which was created by combining 2 parts of Z^(-0.1) with Z^2 and adding C, I had high hopes for a great image.   But alas, my hopes were in vain.   The parent fractal appears quite interesting on the surface, but deep inside it has little of worth.   Totally uninspired with the outcome of the day's exploration, I named the image "A Fractal Image" and rated it at a lowly 3.

The parameter file, which takes 23 minutes to run, is far too slow for such an unimpressive image.   A far more efficient way of viewing the humdrum fractal is to download it from the FOTD web site at:

88F 31C degree heat and high humidity made things uncomfortable for humans on Friday, but no rain fell, giving the cats a dry afternoon in the holly thicket.   When dusk arrived, they came inside for their tuna treats without complaint.   Today is starting the same, but distant thunder is grumbling.   Unless it storms, today will likely be another acceptable day for the duo.   For me, it will likely be an uneventful day.   The next fractal will come from nowhere and will appear as the next FOTD in 24 hours.   Hopefully, it will be an improvement over today's.
