FOTD -- June 24, 2005   (Rating 6)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

After yesterday's round of OT political blather, it's time for a terse and to-the-point fractal discussion.

In today's fractal I took the Z^2.00005 Mandeloid and examined it 62830 levels up the logarithmic hyperspiral, at a level where it has rotated almost exactly 180 degrees.   I once again chose East Valley (in this case a west valley) of the largest midget.

At first I saw spider webs in the image, but we had already seen too many spider webs.   Changing my mind set, I then saw fishing nets, and gave the picture the simple descriptive name "Fractal Nets".   The image rates a 6.   It's a good enough fractal, but the entire 'network' theme is being overdone, creating nascent boredom and holding down the rating.

The render time is 1/2 second short of 10 minutes.   This time is appropriate for such a moderate quality image, and those without the 10 minutes to spare may still enjoy the image by downloading it from Paul's FOTD web site at:

The Thursday weather here at Fractal Central was perfect, making the cats perfectly happy, as happy as only cats can be.   Today is starting a bit warmer, but the duo should not mind.   For me, the work is moderate and the fractals keep coming.   The next one will arrive in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and it's sometimes hard to let go.
