FOTD -- April 22, 2005   (Rating 5)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Today's image is a Julia set that blends elephant and seahorse elements.   This is why I named it "Elephant Seahorses".   The blending was found with the hypercomplex Mandelbrot formula and rendered with the corresponding Julia formula.   At least in my opinion, the image is best considered average, which justifies the rating of a 5.   As always, the completed image is available on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

The next outburst of philosophy is almost ready, and unless something unexpected happens, will appear in the Philofractal version of tomorrow's FOTD.

Thursday was mild enough here at Fractal Central, but a light rain at midday left the grass too wet for the sensitive paws of the fractal cats, who spent the afternoon on the porch, watching the birds fly by.   Today looks about the same.   I assume the cats will have a similar day.   In my department, the work is still heavy, and threatening to get heavier, but I'll try to find some way to squeeze in a fractal or two.   Until the next FOTD, hopefully in 24 hours, take care, and be yourself.
