FOTD -- April 17, 2005   (Rating 4)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

My writing energy is beginning to return, so there is no need to wonder about the future of the FOTD.   It will continue into the foreseeable future, and as computers grow ever faster, ever new fractal vistas will open up to our investigation.

Today's chaotic image lies in the fractal that results when portions of Z^(-1.5) and Z^(-7.5) are combined and (1/C) is added.   It is located near the tip of the main filament of a prominent Mandeloid.   Unable to find any sense of order in the coloring, I named it "Anti-Chaos", which could be taken to mean total order, but actually implies total chaos.

With such haphazard coloring, the image could rate no higher than a humble 4, but the relatively fast render time of under 6 minutes means that not too much time will be spent watching it calculate.   That time may be further shortened by downloading the finished GIF file from the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

The weather was a bit chilly on Saturday, but the sun was strong and the cats were happy.   Today is starting much the same.   The cats should have another good day.   For me it looks like a slow day coming up.   The next FOTD will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care of yourself, whatever your self is.
