FOTD -- January 01, 2005   (Rating 5)

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Since today's FOTD is already well behind schedule, I will cut the discussion very short.   The promised deep philosophy will hopefully appear in the next philofractal version of the FOTD.

Today's hastily-found image is a scene deep in the East Valley of a large midget on the northwest shore of the main bay of the Mandelbrot set.   But, looking at the image, I see more seahorse tails than elephant trunks, so I named it "Seahorse Elephants".

Such an easily found image can hardly be great.   I rated it at an average 5.   The render time of a somewhat slow 14 minutes gives it an overall worth of a slightly-improved 36.   The finished image may be found on the FOTD web site at:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html

The sun did break through here at Fractal Central on Friday afternoon, and the temperature reached a high of a quite balmy 59F 15C.   The fractal cats had a great day in the yard, though they grew cautious when a flock of about 20 crows descended to feast on some garbage that had spilled from a nearby trash can.   (Cats of the fractal variety prefer their birds sparrow size.)

Today looks like it will be another great one.   The new year is getting off to a fine start for the dynamic duo.   For me, it's an evening of watching the games on TV, and then exploring in Fractal Land.   The next fractal will appear in 24 hours.   Until then, take care, and keep taking care all the new year.
