Fractal of the Day

Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts: In today's short discussion I will not wax philosophical, nor will I wax political. I will wax fractal. After all, we're here because we enjoy fractals, and not to give our opinions of world events. Today's quickie shows a midget that is located on a surprisingly long and straight filament extending from the main body of the Z^1.314159...+C Mandeloid when this fractal is calculated 62 levels up the logarithmic spiral. I rated the image at a 7, mostly because of the striking colors, which I found almost totally by chance. I named the image "Pi in Sight". A closer examination of the exponent of Z will reveal the reason for the name. The parent fractal appears to hold several other interesting areas. If I find the time, I will do further investigating and present anything of interest I might find as a future FOTD. When the render time of 23 minutes is factored into the rating system, the overall value equals a 31. That value can be made higher by downloading the completed image from: Another in an unending string of near perfect 84F 29C days gave the fractal cats little to complain about on Wednesday. I could complain a bit about the work that is yet to be done -- but I won't. Hopefully, what I will do is return in 24 hours or so with the next FOTD. Until then, take care, and are fractals necessary for life? Jim Muth jamth@mindspring.com jimmuth@aol.com |
