Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

Such a contrast between amber and green -- that is today's fractal.   The formula Z^(-1.1)-Z^(1.11)+(1/C) is responsible for the image, which has perhaps a bit too much color contrast.   But it's a pleasant image to look at, and the parameter file renders in only 6 minutes, so it's worth at least a quick glance.

The name "Midget with Greenery" was given to an earlier version of the image, in which the green elements surrounding the midget were of a more vivid emerald green hue.   The green has been toned down since then, but the original name has been kept.   Why?   Because I like it.

The picture rates yet another perfectly average 5, which is not bad.   I do have to pull myself out of this rut of mediocrity however, and produce a few more of those 8- and 9-rated images.

Those who would rather not fuss with the parameter file may see the GIF image in an hour or so, when it will be available on the W.W.Web at:

The fractal weather today was fall-like, with a mixture of sun and clouds, and a temperature of 70F 21C, which made the cats happy.   Actually, it's getting harder to tell whether the fractal cats are happy or dis-satisfied, since the older they get, the more they sleep.   Tippy hasn't caught a bird in over a year.   He's still able to catch them, he just doesn't feel like exerting the effort.

This afternoon, while pondering the phenomenon of precognition, I wondered why the ability to see the future is so vigorously denied by so many.   Most likely they fear that if a single thing such as precognition were admitted by respectable scientists, fortune-telling would soon be seen as a legitimate occupation, and the flood gates would open, inundating us with a flood of superstition, which could lead to a hopeless corruption of science.

But would admitting precognition in fact be contrary to the discoveries of science?   Or would science expand to include it?   Seeing the future is obviously impossible when only the intuitive everyday world we observe with our senses is considered.   But as modern physics shows, reality extends far beyond the range of our senses, and even beyond the range of our imagination, into levels where concepts such as time and space take on entirely new meanings, and sometimes actually become meaningless.

Precognition does exist, but it cannot operate in the part of the universe that we observe with our senses.   Therefore it must operate on one of the abstract levels that we are just now discovering and have very little understanding of.   Man, in the unconscious parts of his being, must therefore extend into these abstract levels, and have the ability to interact with them.   I'll not at this time speculate about the unconscious abstract extended part of man, but it would be a great topic for future musing.

I see that it's time to get busy on more important things.   Actually, nothing is more important than fractals, so I should have said 'more necessary things'.   Until 24 hours from now, take care, and be under no stress.
