Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

I'm feeling a bit more optimistic today, but still on the down side -- not so far down however that I couldn't find a fractal.

Today's fractal offering, which is a scene in a remote valley of the Mandelbrot set, rates a less-than-average 4.   It's an unassuming image, showing a midget typical of many in the more remote valleys.

I named the rather somber image "In a Remote Valley", a poetic name with just the slightest hint of darkness.   The image renders in 13 minutes from the parameter file.   It downloads much faster from:
http://home.att.net/~Paul.N.Lee/FotD/FotD.html
or from:
http://sdboyd.dyndns.org/~sdboyd/fotd/
But before going for the download, give Paul and Scott a chance to render and post the GIF image.

The fractal weather today was very pleasant, with sunny skies, a temperature of 81F 27C, and light winds.   The fractal cats, who enjoy such conditions, took their enjoyment on the porch and in the yard.

On the philosophical side, some major changes in my philosophical outlook have taken place.   I'll go into details in future FOTD messages posted to the Philofractal list, but in brief, I now consider myself a confirmed theist rather than an agnostic.   I am fully convinced that God is more than just a comforting idea that exists only in the human mind.   Also, due to recent personal experiences, I am now convinced that at least some of the things currently considered paranormal are in fact real, and involve a transcendental spiritual world, which is every bit as real as the physical.   Sharing these discoveries will become the major focus of the philofractal version of the FOTD.   For those who prefer their fractals without philosophy, the Fractint version will remain philosophy free.

Until next time, take care, and see you soon.
