Fractal visionaries and enthusiasts:

I have time for only a short discussion this evening, since I'm trying to get the backlog of work cleared up by Monday.

For the image I turned to my archives and a fractal several months old.   The IkeMandNewt formula that created today's image is included in the fractint.frm file.   It was written in 1993 by Ron Barnett, and is most certainly the source of my series of 12 MandNewt formulae.

I named the picture "An Odd Scene" because it reminds me of a series of bizarre structures sitting alone and forgotten on some lost planet, doing strange, mysterious things.   The silhouetted objects may have been constructed by alien intelligences; they may be natural formations -- we'll never know.

The picture rates an average 5.   I wanted to rate it higher, but then I remembered that it has already failed once to qualify for FOTD.

At a render time of under 2 minutes, the parameter file is as efficient as downloading the image file from:

The fractal weather today was once again perfect, with sunny skies and a temperature of 70F (21C) that pleased the fractal cats.   Unfortunately, I had little time to give them a proper outing, but I made it up to them by treating them to a can of tuna.

As would be expected under such conditions, the philosophical ponderings went nowhere today, but next week should be different.   For tonight, it's time to shut down the Fractal Central and call it a day.   Until tomorrow, take care, and when questioned, claim the fractal did it.
