Fractal of the Day

Fractal enthusiasts and visionaries: It was a hectic day, topped off this afternoon by the fractal cats, who got into a tussle that got out of control. When things started getting serious, I was forced to step in and restore calm. When their quarrel ended, the fractal cats sat there watching each other and wondering what happened. Despite the brawl, I had time for a minimal fractal search. I found my quarry in the MandNewt02 formula, which produced a picture that resembles a network of strings of pearls, or a series of snake-like strings of bubbles snaking and arcing across the screen. When I couldn't decide what the picture reminded me of, I named the image "Snake Things". Almost all of the image is composed of bof60 inside fill. This fill, when used with the MandNewt formulas, typically produces strings and clusters of circular features such as those seen in today's picture. The parameter file renders in a few minutes. The JPEG image file has been posted to Usenet at: The weather today was perfect of course. Blue skies and a temperature of 70F (21C) are always perfect for fractals. Unfortunately, the fractal muse did not appear today, so the phantistic philosophy must wait until at least tomorrow. Until then, take care, and search for the truth. Jim Muth jamth@mindspring.com |
