Fractal of the Day

Fractal visionaries: Today's fractal is the final one I'll post this year, so I wanted it to be a good one. But being very busy today, I had no time to find a new one. As a result, I went to my collection of fractals and pulled out one that had been lying dormant and unappreciated for several months. After a few quick minor changes to the color palette, I renamed it "Galaxia", and here it is. I think it's acceptable. The image is actually the Z^500 Mandeloid, turned inside-out, and with the number of arms reduced to two. The soft halo represents the combined glow of billions of stars, while the foreground could well be the ring of cosmic dust that exists in the galactic plane. The image has been posted to alt.binaries.pictures.fractals as well as alt.fractals.pictures and Paul's web site at: I must run now, so that's it for today. But tomorrow, I'll be here again with another wonder-fractal. Until then, take care and Happy New Fractals. Jim Muth jamth@mindspring.com |
