| The George Washington National Forest to the west
of Luray and Eldon Downs, comprises all of the Massanutten Mountain
which splits the Shenandoah River into the North and South
Fork. Fort Washington, in the interior valley of the mountain
was the winter quarters for George Washington and his troops.
East of the Page Valley lies the upper end of the Skyline Drive Parkway. Entrances are in Front Royal and Sperryville. |
