Eldon Downs is located in beautiful Page County, Virginia where the South Fork of the Shenandoah River runs between the Skyline Drive and the Massanutten Mountain. We are approximately 2 hours from Washington, D.C.( See map)
In this naturally beautiful setting you can enjoy excellent riding and boarding facilities among friendly people with a wide variety of expertise.
Eldon Downs was purchased by Lindy and Jimmy Yates in 1999. After renovating the main house (circa 1830), the barbed wire fencing was replaced with board fencing and paddocks; and a stable was built.

Facilities now include a 12 stall barn with a 24 foot wide aisle, a heated tack room and large tiled H/C wash stall. Our 100' x 200' sand riding arena with lights is equipped with state-of-the-art jumps provided by Old Dominion Jumps & Standards . We also have a round pen for lunging and green breaking.

Eldon Downs is adjacent to Jimmy's family farm, Grandview Farm, which is home to 250 head of Saler/Angus cattle and 350 acres of prime pasture and woodlands. A cross country course is now open, stretching from the lower hay fields in the foothills of the valley to the Blue Ridge Mountains, which provides excellent training terrain for conditioning horses.
