A memory book, family recipe book
 , Christmas memory
book or scrapbook makes a thoughtful and unique gift
for any occasion. A few years ago I made a Memory
book for friends. After 20 years we have shared
mountains of memories. This year I finished three
family recipe books - one for each son. I started
with three identical books and used my computer to
write the recipes. That way I could print the
recipes out in threes. I used protective sleeves and
embellished with family photos, scrapbook papers,
and cut outs. I collected favorite recipes from
different sources and added some stories as well.
Their baby books were good sources of stories and
anecdotes. I didn't add page numbers so that I could
add to the book in the years to come. Once all the
recipes were printed out I sorted them into 'chapters' and added a Table of contents. Perhaps it would be fun to create a cookbook just for desserts, party ideas, or one for Christmas recipes and memories.
Another option would be to insert collected recipe
cards into the photo albums with 4 x 6 sleeves.
