About Me

Call me Fresca- it's short for Francesca. After 27 years as a Registered Nurse I was able to hang up my stethoscope and replace it with a paintbrush, crochet hook, computer keyboard, cross stitch needle, glue and scissors, or what have you. I have always found pleasure in creative expression. My earliest artistic incentive was receiving 1st prize in a Halloween window painting contest when I was 9 or 10. My first creative job was at 16 when I illustrated a catalog but it wasn't until my husband brought home a scroll some years ago that I found my true artistic niche. I found it wasn't so difficult to use and after a time I discovered people were willing to pay for my pieces. I have tried different venues to sell my crafts. First shops and shows- now the internet. It amazes me how many friends I have made on the web and now I wonder how I ever got along without it.

I live in Lexington, Kentucky. Our 3 sons are all now adults. My youngest works at Krogers, my middle son is on the Police Force and recently gave us our first Granddaughter. My oldest just got married and works here in town at Lexmark. My husband retired from his job as a Police Sergeant to take a job for the state and is also a flight instructor. Flying is just one of his interests- he also likes golf and sailing. The photo does not show all the gray hair I got when my boys hit their teens.

My creative expression has taken many forms - painting, sewing, crochet, clay, home decorating, and cooking. There is such satisfaction in being able to say, "I made that."
