The Downers Grove Chess Club provides friendly and fun chess action. Chess players of all levels of chess experience attend and are welcome. Downers Grove Chess Club has no dues: it is entirely free to participate. DGCC membership is at 35 members, including 6 players with a master or expert rating. We have a typical attendance of about 18 players per club meeting. DGCC is an affiliate of the United States Chess Federation and of the Illinois Chess Association. DGCC fields a chess team in the Chicago Industrial Chess League. DGCC's team in the CICL won 1st place in the league's 2009 team championships, and also took 1st place in the West Division--congratulations!
NEWS: DGCC's Summer/Fall 2009 Ladder got off to a great start on June 10, with 18 players participating. Minimum cost USCF-rated tournaments are coming soon.
