Introduction

ConvertTrack is a software program designed with the diehard "Managing Your Money" (MYM) user in mind. ConvertTrack will take data files containing stock price information downloaded from various sources on the World Wide Web (WWW) and convert them to a format that can be loaded into MYM to update portfolio information.

Currently, ConvertTrack will only convert source data files which conform to the "Quicken Download" format found Prodigy Internet and Quicken.com. Other similar formats do exist on the WWW and every attempt will be made to incorporate these format(s) into a future release of ConvertTrack.

Background

The idea for ConvertTrack was originally conceived when my father, an avid MYM user, mentioned that Prodigy Classic was shutting down and that he would no longer be able to load stock prices into MYM using the Prodigy QuoteTrack feature. He also indicated that equivalent stock price data was being offered on Prodigy Internet, but that he would have to manually re-key the information into MYM, since it was only available in a "Quicken Download" format.

After comparing the "Quicken" data file downloaded from Prodigy Internet to the QuoteTrack file downloaded from Prodigy Classic, I determined that I could write a program to do the data conversion to a file that MYM could load. Thus, the idea for ConvertTrack was formed.

When my father reported how well the Alpha version of ConvertTrack worked, he also thought that there might be some interest for ConvertTrack on the Prodigy MYM bulletin board. He mentioned that he had seen some posts on the BB from folks such as yourself who shared his sentiments about the "Download QuoteTrack" feature disappearing. So, I decided to make ConvertTrack into a real software utility and sell it for a nominal price. This web site is the result of the initial idea.

System Requirements

ConvertTrack has been tested with Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT 4.0. Having said that, the minimum system requirements that are necessary to run ConvertTrack are very minimal (Windows 95 or higher). The minimum configuration required for the target operating system, should be sufficient for ConvertTrack. As a practical rule, more of everything (Faster CPU, RAM, Disk space) is better. ConvertTrack does NOT require a large amount of memory to run, nor does it take up a large amount of disk space when you install it. It takes less than 250K (that's K not MB). So it will run just fine on a low end Windows 95 system. Of course, you'll need the obvious things like an internet connection (like Prodigy Internet) and Managing Your Money software. Note: ConvertTrack created data files have only been tested with MYM Version 12 for DOS.
