Old Ingraham highway. The original park road cut through Royal Palm Hammock, the first piece of land to become "Everglades National Park." Royal Palm was donated by the Miami Women's Garden Club. The highway was abandoned to be reclaimed by nature in the 1960's when the new main park road was finished.
