My father was a crew-chief on a B-29 that flew photo-recon
over Japan during the Pacific campaign. His name is Jack Chatterson, and
he was the crew chief on the Double Exposure. The mission of the Double
Exposure was photo-reconnaisance. They would fly over the selected
target before the bombing run and take pictures. After the bombs were delivered,
they would fly over the target again, taking more pictures so that the
success of the mission could be determined by comparison of the before
and after photos. Courtesy of Robert F. Chatterson
