Are you wondering where the Ultimate Family Tree pages went? They have been deleted and replaced by the following:Descendants of Donald Robertson - As far back in the Robertson clan as we go - on down. The information on the living has been left off. Ancestors of John Dayton Robertson I need to find information on James Doak and I keep coming up empty. Any clues would be most appreciated. Information on Lydia or Mahala would be wonderful too. James Doak was born circa 1814 in Philadelphia, PA. He died May 16, 1892 in Bingham MI. Circa 1837 he married Lydia (Liddie) Phelps(?) in Rochester, NY. Lydia was born September 26, 1809 in Orleans Co. NY and died November 9, 1896 in West Bengal, MI. They had two children: Caroline Adelia, born April 1842 in NY, and Harriet (Hattie) L., born June 30, 1849 in Rochester NY. Hattie died April 3, 1943 in Salem, OR. James and Lydia divorced in 1879. James remarried circa 1880 and married Mahala (Mary), born circa 1860.
Above are Lucinda Philips (1817 - 1872?) and Samuel Buell Dayton (1809 - 1867). They had nine children, including Charles Edward Dayton, the second oldest. Samuel was a Blacksmith who became a successful speculator in farms and livestock in Michigan.
Above are Charles Edward Dayton (1838-1894) and Hattie L. Doak (1849 - 1943). Charles Dayton served in the 9th Illinois during the Civil War and was wounded at Ft. Donaldson. He lived in Delta and Lansing, Mich. before going to Salem, Ore. in 1890. Charles had five children, Ada Grace Dayton being the youngest with his second wife Hattie L. Doak. Hattie would raise her daughter Ada's son John after Ada's death. Ada's brothers Floyd and Arthur went into business as optometrists together. Arthur later became a Pharmacist, while Floyd continued as an optometrist. Floyd was the President of Oregon State Board of Optometry for over 20 years, avid letter and poetry writer, generous guardian to his nephew John Dayton Robertson. In the three pictures of Hattie above, the first is believed to have been taken when she was 90, the second was taken circa 1870 at Thornton's Fine Art Gallery in St. Johns, Michigan. The third one is probably closer to 1880. In both of the pictures to the right, she is in them with her sister Dealia Doak Fitch on the right.
Glass Negative Results: Who are these people? Burncliff - Isle of Arran, ScotlandI had so much space being used for Burncliff, I had to get more space. The easiest way to do this was to set it up with it's own web site. Please go to http://Burncliff.home.att.net to see more family information, as well as pictures of the farm and family. In my rush to set it up, this site is a little rough, but the information is there. Note: Burncliff was misspelled on the site address, but I am reluctant to change the address, due to those who are already using it.
Paulsen
I needed more space still for the Paulsen family. Please go to http://PaulesnPhotos.home.att.net/ to see what is currently largely a"Who is this a picture of" presentation. Family Links
