126 WWII FIGHTING G.I.'S & COMMANDOS

The 126 WWII Fighting G.I.'s & Commandos Set is believed to have included a combination of regular MPC Army Men and also MPC "Ringhand" G.I.'s because it came complete with all sorts of great interchangeable weapons and accessories - which only the Ringhand GI's could have utilized (perhaps these were the "Fighting G.I.'s" noted in the Ad?) However, it also came with "Bazooka" soldiers which were only available as non-ringhand Army Men (perhaps these were the "Commandos"?).

This web site has not yet found this set, however we do have some reference photos below which show some MPC Ringhand G.I.'s and some of their accessory gear including Helmets, Ammo Belts, Guns, Belts, Knives, Rifles, a Submachine Gun & Bullet Proof Vests.

Note that some of the Ammo Belts in the image are not being worn by the figures. This is because they were so brittle from age that a few belts we tried to put onto the figures simply cracked into pieces instantly. The same happened with some of the Bullet Proof Vests we tried so that is why one vest is cracked open.

The Ad above was found separated from it's original comic so we do not know exactly what year this G.I set was available. However, the Ad lacks a Zip Code on the order form (only has the old postal "Zone" noted) so this set may have been offered anywhere from the late 1950's - late 1960's. Zip Codes were first introduced in 1963 but were not necessarily used by everyone until mandated by law in 1967.
