Welcome to the Citizens Band Mid~West (CBMW) Club Homepage. Please Bookmark this page and stop back often as new CB radio information and links are added daily!

CB Midwest operates on the upper spectrum of the Citizens Band service. Many CB Radio operators rely solely on one channel to make both local and long distance contacts. Other CB Radio operators are 'surfers' and can be found anywhere in any mode, AM, Upper or Lower sideband.

As our organization grows through increased membership, we will expand our methods of information dissemination to include the internet web pages, WWW Chat and a quarterly CB radio Information newsletter. These methods will be used to promote disciplined use of Citizens Band Radio, promote good radio procedures and fair use of the citizens band service. The following pages provide some CB radio basics for the novice and perhaps, some refresher training for the more advanced radio operator.

Please feel free to view, copy and utilize the contents and - if we can persuade you - SUBMIT MORE CB INFORMATION! Any information related to the use of CB Radio is solicited and will be accepted for review and submission into these pages and our monthly newsletter.

In addition, we are constructing specific "category pages" that are dedicated to some key CB Radio topics. Other topics will be added continuously.

Jargon is common place on all 40 CB Radio Channels. In an effort to improve this valuable service many CB radio Operators are decreasing the jargon and operating more like professional operators. Learning the Phonetic Alphabet, Numerical Pronunciation, Q Signals and 'Plain Language Procedure' (Pro) Words will help you become a better CB Radio Operator and help re-establish Class D CB radio as it was originally envisioned by the FCC - as a personal radio service for necessary communications.

When numerals are transmitted over the CB radio they can easily be confused with other words, meanings and numbers. To help eliminate any confusion and afford a clear, concise message to the recipient the following table should be used to transmit clear numerals.
