A NEW WAY TO GET JD_JETTING_2002_VS.XLS

Keihin FCR and PWK carburetors are standard on the majority of today's high performance two and four-stroke motorcycles. This jetting guide entitled JD_Jetting_2002_VS.xls, written as an Excel™ spreadsheet, is designed to help the beginner as well as experienced carburetor tuner understand the effects of jetting and tune their motorcycles.

By inputing the needle code and clip position you can investigate needle shapes and compare up to 5 at a time. As an example, consider the three different needle types depicted in Figure 1. This graph indicates the inverse needle diameter as a function of throttle position. Note that the inverse is plotted since a smaller diameter needle will allow more fuel to be delivered.

You may also input jet sizes, temperature and altitude to compare the relative fuel mixtures for different setups. With your first set of jetting data as a baseline, 4 other jetting setups can be examined relative to the first set as shown in Figure 2. This allows to to tailor fuel delivery where yo want it as a function of throttle position.

Now you can get a demo copy of the spreadsheet for free! Simply download it with no strings attached.
