PICTURES FOR 1961 SHASTA ASTRODOME _____________________________________________ Please read our Disclaimer _____________________________________ Here is some information and pictures of the 1961 Shasta Astrodome model vintage camper. I had seen one similar to this model before, but can't remember the name . . . maybe it was a Shasta? But, I thought this was a unique design as it resembles a 5th wheeler but is a bumper tow. I remember reading a question about towing this type of camper and any problem with the above over head? The answer was that it was okay unless you had a tall vehicle, ie: van, pickup with cap, etc. then you had to be careful when making sharp turns and backing as the clearance is close. Otherwise towed good and no problem with a regular type vehicle. I thought the uniqueness of this style vintage camper deserved a page with some information and pictures.
