___________________________ If you have the aluminum or non painted vintage camper then it has to be a labor of love to get a great with all the physical work involved. And, not to mention that it is an on-going task. So, here are some ideas on how to, materials and products that might help you get that great shine. MATERIALS AND PRODUCTS
Ok,
first you have to get all the corrosion off and have
clean material before starting to polish or shine. Using 320
grit wet paper you can get at any auto parts store or hardware
store and with soapy water, (put some dishwashing soap in a bucket and
put some water to it--the soap and water mix makes the sanding better
in many ways--it lubricates the sand paper and eliminates any dust from
sanding) sand the part. Always try to sand in the direction of the
part, and try not to do any type of a swirl motion. Sanding will remove
the corrosion quickly and should let you see results
quickly." Or using Dutch
Cleanser or Bon Ami
to clean the
surface. These kind of cleansers don't have the grit so you shouldn't
scratch the surface. I tried this on my Aqua and white and used a
sponge that had nylon netting on one side and it did a good job.
Now that you got the corrosion off and it is clean it's time to
polish. This is going to be alot of work. Maybe you could
use a polisher to help out? Here are some products you may want
to try:
