The
VIN is located on the right side of the 'V' on the hitch as you look at
it. It is about 6" or so from the coupler on the top of the right side
hitch rail. In the picture at the left you can see where the arrow
points to the VIN location....the white line on the hitch rail.
The VIN info is as listed below:
* The first (2) numbers are the YEAR of
Production.
* The next (2) numbers are the length of your Scotty
- with the tongue.
* The last (3 - 4 or 5) numbers represent the
number of production.
There
may be a Letter that either precedes the VIN or one at the end. Letters
that precede the VIN represent:
* A - manufactured in Ashburn, GA
plant.
* B - manufactured in the Bristow,
OK plant.
* None - manufactured in the main,
Irwin, PA plant
Letters at the end of the VIN represent the model:
# G - Gaucho
# H - HiLander
# M - Mattress
# T - Tonga
# FK - Front Kitchen; which seems to be the same as Tonga?

The
VIN is located on the right side of the 'V' on the hitch as you look at
it. It is on the right side
hitch rail slightly behind the propane tanks and may be on top or side
of the rail. Seems most are on the side. In the
picture at the left you can see where the arrow points to the VIN
location....the red line on the side of the hitch rail.
The newer Scotties starting in 1980 went to the standardized VIN
numbering system as they use in automobiles. The 10th digit
represents the year of production. Apparently only part of this
longer VIN is stamped on the hitch and the entire VIN is on the title.
The
newer Scottys VIN looks like this "ie: " 1SSTT11S1E21SS345 " and
is longer than the older Scotty VINs. The table below shows the
numbering for the years of production: A = 1980
