The cushions in your vintage camper occasionally need to be completely replaced or just recovered.  At many local places like WalMart, Kmart, and Joann fabrics you can find foam to do recovering or to make replacement cushions.

Here are the standard sizes for the older Scotties - 50-60's and is the 13 footer model.

BACK COUCH/BED:

    * Seat cushion  -   24" x 74"
    * Seat back -  (2) - 12" x 74"

DINETTE CUSHIONS:

    * (2) Seat cushions - 24" x 35"
    * (2) Back cushions - 15" x 35"

Here is the standard size for the rear gaucho 70 (from a 74) HiLander model.

    * rear gaucho bed was 48" x 75" - That was pulled out all way up against
      the fridge and range cabinets. There was a small storage bin at one
      end, if that bin wasn't there the length would have been 78" like the
      gaucho in my '78 GT-14.

This is from Nancy:

Just fyi for those who are needing to replace cushions in their Scotty.  I have found a dealer on ebay who is offering the good 5" foam for about 1/2 the price that I could get it at our local army surplus store, which is the least expensive that I have been able to find.  And the shipping is free.

Ebay ID id ' musicmanjge '. I have ordered ours today, and will send an update when it arrives to let you know what we think.

I ordered the 1.8 density/38 ILD. (4) pieces of 24x74x5, which will make the back and dinette seats. Info from another website showed the ILD 25-35 good for bedding, and 40-50 good for sitting. I am hoping that the 38 will be good for sitting and sleeping on.

The pieces were $36.99 each, and the shipping is free. $147.96 total. The cost would have been $236.00 from army surplus.

I receive the foam - very fast shipping. It seems perfect, firm enough for the sitting part, maybe a bit firm for the sleeping, but should soften up a bit with use and be just right.

ANOTHER FOAM SOURCE - EBAY SELLER :  Ritchie-Foam-and-Mattress-Company - Ebay ID: isellfoam

This is a good source for custom cut and made foam pieces for cushions and custom made covers. They have various choices for foam density and thickness and several types of materials for covers and their prices are reasonable:   KNOX FOAM

TAYLOR'S ARMY SURPLUS   for foam.
