On the third of August 1859, Thomas A. Whitney appeared before W. A. Hunt, Justice of the Peace requesting a Citation be issued requiring the proper persons to appear to attend the probate of the Last will and Testament of Zabud Lounsberry.

Surrogate order to heirs to appear in court

The actual will is missing. The Surrogate Court records identify Thomas A. Whitney as executor [Note:  Thomas A. Whitney was a Justice of the Peace] Further documents identify Margaret Cusick of the Town of Cortlandt  (her mark) and Delila Roundl(her mark) as witnesses to the signature of Zabud Lounsberry on his will dated July 18, 1859.  The Surrogate Court records identify Hiram Rowel of White Plains as guardian for Amanda Hayes and Zabud Lockwood, minors. From 1859 to 1867 Hiram P. Rowel of White Plains was Westchester County Clerk.
