JESUS, THE NEW COVENANT 'YES'
Whispers
of the New Covenant (1)

"For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us... was not yea and nay, but in Him was YEA. For all the promises of God in Him are YEA, and in Him AMEN, unto the glory of God by us. Now He which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts." (2 Corinthians 1:19-22).
There are three outstanding themes in the New Testament which pertain to
the NEW COVENANT, they are:
1) HIS WORD-- which is the Substance, the good news proclamation, indeed,
the embodiment of the new covenant.
2) HIS SPIRIT-- which is the power, the energy, the ability for the fulfillment
of the covenant.
3) HIS NAME-- which is the authority of the covenant.
That Jesus Christ is THE WORD of the new covenant, we know. For "In the
beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
(John 1:1). It is because HE IS THE LIVING WORD of the covenant, that we
find that all His commandments are promises-- promises which are guaranteed
of fulfillment. HE is the YEA, and the AMEN, of every promise. And it is
IN HIM, in Christ, that we are established, anointed, and sealed-- which
effectually guarantees us the victory of fulfillment.
STABLISHED-- from the Greek "bebaioo" meaning: stabilize, make firm and
stable, sure. It comes from the root "baino" meaning: to walk. Thus it
implies PROGRESS IN BALANCE. And God purposes to make us STABLE-- firm
and sure, that we may be unreproveable before Him.
Truly this is the heart prayer of every believer in Christ, that we might
be stablished-- made firm and stable in a progressive walk that is in balance.
This we have IN CHRIST! You cannot find in Him one characteristic that
stands out above all others. In Him everything is in complete balance.
He is perfect in all His ways. There are no high points and low points
in Him. He is complete, He is THE ALL. And He is for us, "The Way, and
The Troth, and The Life," (John 14:6), so that He makes our way perfect,
as He steadily draws us onward and fills us with Himself.
In Him we will not get swampy with a distorted love message, hung up on
a few points about love that we over-emphasize, and which the carnal mind
then misinterprets and lowers for occasions of fleshly indulgence. We will
not become enshrouded with a death-gloom-consciousness, with tunnel vision
only of the cross and death to self. We will not become overly blessing-conscious,
giddy with emotional feelings of joy because we are thinking primarily
of all the riches promised us in Christ. We will not become hard and vindictive
in judgment and wrath because that is all we see in store for evil. Praise
God, we will not take any of these elements and pervert them into gross
distortions, because all of the facets of His character will be blended
into one beautiful harmonious expression of Him. He will stabilize us,
bring us into His balance, that we might be a praise unto Him.
Colossians 2:6- 7, "As ye have therefore received Jesus Christ the Lord,
so walk in Him: rooted and built up in Him, and STABLISHED in the faith."
"SO WALK IN HIM..." HE is the sphere of our walk, progressively and in
balance. And He will stablish us IN THE FAITH. Not in man's doctrine, not
in a system of man's works, not in religious Babylon's theology, not in
some "our, I, my" ministry, but STABLISHED IN THE FAITH, HIS, which is
of the new covenant.
Hebrews 13:8-10, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for the
age. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is
a good thing that the heart be ESTABLISHED WITH GRACE; not with meats,
which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. We have an
altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle."
Interesting contrast here-- the need to be "established with grace; not
with meats." Meats signifies a whole system of WORKS, doing, self-efforts
that did not, could not profit those occupied therein. Externalism, the
system of ceremonial observances, "could not make him that did the service
perfect, as pertaining to the conscience." (Hebrews 9:9).
But, the writer goes on, there is another realm beyond all the works of
the flesh, and so "WE HAVE AN ALTAR..." it is a partaking at HIS ALTAR,
to minister unto Him, to "worship Him in spirit and in truth." It is not
a realm of self -works, nor a realm of self-indulgence, but of offering
up everything to Him, that He might become in us "the fullness of
Him that filleth all in all." (Ephesians 1:23). It is the realm of the
heart, it is BY GRACE, for it is IN CHRIST. By His Spirit He purifies our
mind, our conscience, and establishes us in His grace.
Not only are we to be stablished, but also ANOINTED. Here the Greek
word is "chrio" meaning: to rub. It does not speak of an anointing that
is poured on and runs off. This may give a momentary exhilaration, causing
a re-action, as the flesh re-acts to that which it feels of the Spirit.
But we need far more than an external excitement, we need the reality of
His indwelling life. Nor is it an anointing that is smeared around just
so that all the surface is covered. But it speaks of that which is rubbed
in, to penetrate to inmost core to work its transformation.
It is not a self-anointing, for either God rubs it in, or we have not been
thus anointed. "HE WHICH... anointed us, IS GOD." The anointing is applied
by the Anointer. This is God's doing. "We are His workmanship." (Ephesians
2:10). We can seek , Him, wait before Him, surrender our all to Him, but
HE is the GIVER of the gift, and we can only receive what He gives. Thank
God, "The Lord will give grace and glory: no good will He withhold from
them that walk uprightly." (Psalm 84: 11).
Stablished, anointed, and next, "Who also hath sealed us." SEALED-- from
the Greek "sphragizo" meaning: to seal, impress, to stamp (as with a signet
or private mark) for security or protection; also, as a mark of privacy,
or genuineness.
When a seal has been placed upon a certain manufactured piece of goods,
it is a guarantee that product has met the required specifications, is
a genuine article, etc. It also lets you know that the product was specifically
made by the company that placed the seal thereon. Anything without that
seal would not be of that original order. Some might copy, duplicate, counterfeit,
but they have no right to the seal.
GOD PLACES HIS SEAL UPON US BY THE HOLY SPIRIT. Marked, recognized
by God as His; plus being a perpetual reminder to us that we are His. Indeed,
it guarantees both our security and our purity. The purity is indispensable
to the security, so HE who dwells within is prepared to reprove us of sin,
righteousness, and judgment to come. And He works out every needed process
to maintain a purity that redounds to His praise. While no chastening is
a particularly joyful experience, yet HE DOES SO "for our profit, that
we might be partakers of His holiness." (Hebrews 12:10).
Praise God, He has "given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts,"
and this INDWELLING SPIRIT bespeaks a guarantee that He is going to make
of us a genuine product of His grace--we will be ALL HIS, and will be found
to His praise. For His Spirit, having taken up permanent residence within
us, has a passionate desire for our holiness.
So strongly does the Spirit of Christ dwelling within us yearn for the
holiness of His own, that He literally becomes the guarantee that we will
become pure. The ministration of the first covenant could not do this.
It was an external working, and much dependent upon man's own doing. That
ministration was a failure, and needed replacing with a better. Now, IN
CHRIST, we have this better, for He personally comes to dwell within us,
to be the fulfiller of the standard for righteousness. Indeed, HE IS
our righteousness! He has this GREAT DESIRE for our holiness.
The word "Iusteth" literally means: in a negative sense, an over-desire;
in a positive sense, an intense desire. He has this tremendous desire that
we be brought to the full stature of the perfection of Christ, and He will
not be satisfied until He has accomplished His purpose. Knowing that we
cannot accomplish this in ourselves, by our own strength, etc. He has
come to abide within and accomplish it within us. "Faithful is He that
calleth you, who also will do it." (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
There are times when He shares with us of His INTENSE DESIRE, and
we are moved with deep yearnings for His holiness, His reality, even to
the point of envy, not in a sinful sense, but in a positive working for
our good. Paul also brings out this working in both realms, negative, and
positive, saying, "For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit
against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other." (Galatians
5:17).
James writes, "Know ye not that friendship of the world is enmity with
God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of
God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The Spirit that dwelleth
within us lusteth to envy." (James 4:4-5).
If it be the spirit of the world, and self that rules within us, then our
desires are contrary to, in opposition to the righteousness of God. But
when it is the holy Spirit dwelling within, then it is equally true that
His desires are contrary to, in opposition to the flesh. And He calls for
the operation of the cross within us to bring an end to things of the flesh,
self, love of the world, etc. until we are fully joined unto Christ IN
ONE SPIRIT, the Spirit of holiness. So while the over-desires of the flesh
work against the purity of the Spirit, praise God, the intense desires
of the Spirit will work to deliver us from the flesh. Furthermore, "He
is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by Him...
" (Hebrews 7:25). And He will not be satisfied with anything less than
this divine perfection of His own image and nature.
Now, Paul writes of how "the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
so that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus
Christ: Who shall also confirm you unto the end, so that ye may be blameless
in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by Whom ye were called
unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord." (1 Corinthians 1:6-9).
CONFIRMED-- this is the same Greek word "bebaioo" that we previously noted
as "stablish." The testimony of Christ is to be CONFIRMED IN US, and we
are to be CONFIRMED IN HIM, with the result that we shall be found blameless
before Him. It means that His testimony is PERSONIFIED in us, that we BECOME
the witness of His righteousness. Indeed, to this end, "He was made (became)
a SIN-OFFERING for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made (become)
the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:21).
First of all, the testimony has been given about Christ, by men. Those
who have encountered Him can give a direct witness concerning Him. Jesus
asked His disciples, "Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?" (Matthew
16:13). So they told Him that some said He was John the Baptist, some said
Elias, others that He was either Jeremias, or one of the prophets. Then
He asked them directly, "But whom say ye that I am?" And Peter, having
received a direct revelation from God, said, "Thou art the Christ, the
Son of the living God." (verse 16).
Here is THE WORD, clothed in the creaturely form of His own creation, found
in fashion as a man, "Which none of the princes of this world knew: for
had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." (1 Corinthians
2:8). Thus, "He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the
world knew Him not. He came unto His own, and His own received Him not."
(John 1:10-11). Only as the Spirit revealed Him, could men know who He
really was. Flesh and blood cannot reveal Him! No wonder so many preachers
cannot truly bear witness of Him-- they do not intimately KNOW Him. All
they have are the reasonings of their own carnal mind, and so they fabricate
gross caricatures of Him. HE is the FATHER'S SECRET, which only He can
reveal, to, and IN those whom He calls unto Himself.
The reason there is such gross ignorance in Christendom today, as concerning
the NEW COVENANT IN CHRIST, is because they have not yet received a revelation
FROM THE FATHER concerning Him. One might hear about Him, what others speak
of Him, and memorize what you hear so that you can recite it by rote, but
there is no personal quickening INTO LIFE until the Father imparts of His
Spirit to illuminate us. "No man can come to Me, except the Father which
hath sent Me draw him." (John 6:44). We might claim and demand, confess
and profess, but until He sovereignly works within us, it is but the futile
exercise of trying to appropriate that which has not yet been given to
us.
THE NEW COVENANT IS MINISTERED BY GOD! It is initiated by Him, revealed
to us by Him, and then this "testimony of Christ " is confirmed in us by
Him, as He stablishes, anoints, and seals us to His Way.
We have often stated, no man can live on a borrowed revelation. Nor
is it just some form of head-knowledge, or mental assent to a doctrine.
IT IS BY THE DIRECT REVELATION, quickening of the holy Spirit, that we
are being enriched with His goodness. Betimes we may be privileged to offer
confirmation to others of these things, but only to the degree that He
has first implanted them within their spirit, for only HE can cause truth
to become LIFE in us.
So, while we appreciate the witness of other men, especially if they have
actually encountered Him, and so know whereof they speak, yet we realize
the necessity of that direct witness of Christ Himself to us. For, "The
testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy." (Revelation 19:10). Oh,
wonder of wonders! Here is the blessing of His direct witness to us. Men
can witness to us about Him, but they cannot change our life. "The law
was a shadow of good things to come, but not the very image of those things."
(Hebrews 10:1). It could bear witness of Him in type and shadow, but it
could not change us. But when HE CONFIRMS HIS TESTIMONY IN US, it is
a prophecy of what we are to become in Him, and it is guaranteed of fulfillment,
because He is both "the Author and the Finisher of our faith."
Acts 3:26 reminds us that "God, having raised up His Son Jesus, sent Him
to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities."
The Greek word for "bless" is "eulogeo" meaning: to speak well of. The
Spirit of God is able to prophetically bear witness of what you are going
to become, and then bring it to pass by turning you away from sin, into
the righteousness of Christ.
When, as men, we eulogize a person-- it is either at a special banquet
to honor one for all the works they have already done; or, at their funeral,
when they have finished their course, and so we rehearse their good deeds,
we speak well of them, based upon the life they have lived. I cannot speak
good things about you, except in the measure I know good things about you,
which knowledge I have gained by observing how you have lived. Thus my
report of you is historical. I can recite the past. But the TESTIMONY
OF JESUS is far different. He declares the good things that we shall do,
what we shall become, even while we are currently steeped in trespasses
and sins. We may presently appear to be the most unlovely of the unlovely,
yet He comes and SPEAKS WELL OF US, BLESSES US, witnessing to that which
we shall become-- a child of God, to partake of His nature, be conformed
to His image, and be an expression of righteousness. And then, TO CONFIRM
THIS TESTIMONY, that it shall be fulfilled, He takes up residence within
us by His Spirit, to bring to pass that which He has spoken, for He is
the Fulfiller of the testimony. He is the Guarantee of His own Word!
He stablishes, He anoints, He seals-- He confirms the good news, and becomes
for us both "The Author and the Finisher of our faith." In due time the
process will end, and the product IS, manifested in a state of being. I
dare say, seems like we have been in the processing for so long, we wonder
if it will ever end. Yes, for "Christ IS THE END... for righteousness to
every one that believeth." (Romans 10:4).
I know we omitted the words "of the law" in this verse quoted, but we did
so for a reason, to emphasize that HE IS THE END, the FULFILLMENT, the
PERFECTER. And He who is "the end of the law," is certainly the end of
all our processing, when He has filled us to overflowing with Himself.
There is a UNION with His fullness, a oneness with THE ALL. It is not
a fenced in portion here, a qualified ministry there, a limited position
appointed us, etc. but it is CHRIST, being brought into HIS GLORY. He is
the End, the Omega. The end is not a date, a time, an event, a happening,
THE END IS A PERSON, CHRIST, AND WE ARE TO BE FOUND IN HIM.
"He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly,
and speaketh of the earth: He that cometh from heaven is above all. And
what He hath seen and heard, that He testifieth; and no man receiveth His
testimony. He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that
God is true. For He whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God." (John
3:31-34).
What witness are we listening to? Of men, or of Christ? All that man, without
a revelation from God, can bear witness of is of the earth, for he is earthly.
But there is One who is from above, (editor's note: "from above " or One
who is of a higher understanding, a Perfect Everything) and He is able
to reveal "WHAT HE HATH SEEN AND HEARD." He is qualified to bear witness
of that which is FROM ABOVE. No wonder we are admonished, "He that hath
an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. " (Revelation
3:6).
"If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this
is the witness of God which He hath testified of His Son. He that believeth
on the Son of God hath the witness in himself... he that hath the Son hath
life." (1 John 5:9-10, 12).
So much of religious creed and dogma is earthy. Listen for an hour to a
man bear witness, it is filled with the "I" of self, and of his own ideas
of what God might be like. When you closely examine his portrait of God,
you find that God has taken on the image of man, for, verily, "Thou thoughtest
that I was altogether such an one as thyself." (Psalm 50:21). Man attributes
to God all of his own base emotions, and thus over and over again they
fulfill the Word, "His visage was so marred more than any man, and His
form more than the sons of men." (Isaiah 52:14). Not until HE is revealed
to us by the Spirit, and through us as we become ONE IN HIM, will men have
a true witness of the Christ. Then "the kings shall shut their mouths
at Him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that
which they had not heard shall they consider." (verse 15).
Men have borne witness to condemnation and death, but very little witness
to His life and righteousness. Jesus said, "The thief cometh not, but for
to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life,
and that they might have it more abundantly." (John 10:10). The earth gives
a witness of death and damnation. But He gives afar different witness,
and confirms it within, saying, "THERE IS LIFE," and then HE becomes that
life in us.
"This is the promise that He hath promised us, even eternal life. -The
anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not
that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things,
and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide
in Him." (1 John 2:25,27).
It is no lie, it is not as earth's witness, it is truth which abides all
processings and shall become fulfilled reality. Therefore we add our earnest
prayer to that which Paul uttered. "How I long for you to grow more certain
in your knowledge and more sure in your grasp of God Himself May your spiritual
experience become richer as you see more and more fully God's great secret,
Christ Himself. For it is in Him, and in Him alone, that men will find
all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (Colossians 2:2-3, Phillips).
Revelation 3:14 speaks of Him as "THE AMEN; the faithful and true witness,
the beginning of the creation of God." What He hath seen and heard, that
He testifieth-- bears witness, even by His very STATE OF BEING. Well He
could say, "l AM." He is LOVE personified, He is the Way, the Truth, the
Life, the Door, the Good Shepherd, the Bread come down from heaven, etc.
All that HE WAS IN PERSON testified to these blessed realities.
And then He said, "The Father which sent Me, He gave Me a commandment,
what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that His commandment
is LIFE EVERLASTING: what-soever I speak therefore, even as the Father
said unto Me, so I speak. " (John 12:49-50).
May God deliver us from the witness of men which is earthy. Then may He
open our hearts and minds and ears to hear the witness from above, for
Jesus Christ had a DIRECT COMMANDMENT FROM THE FATHER-- what to speak,
and when to speak it. That commandment was of LIFE EVERLASTING! Life
that would abide throughout all ages, through all the processings, through
all the vanity and corruption of present time; until total victory was
obtained, and God is "ALL IN ALL."
Furthermore, "The Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you
by us... was not yea and nay, but in Him was YEA. For all the promises
of God in Him are yea, and in Him amen, unto the glory of God by us." (2
Corinthians 1:19-20).
To secure the fulfillment, He stabilizes, He anoints, He seals US. For
it is BY US that the fulfilled promise redounds to the glory of God.
When God gave the promise it was TO US, "For God so loved the world..."
THAT'S US! Therefore the promise can only glorify God when it is fulfilled
in us. What an amazing revelation of His grace, that links together "the
glory of God," and this, "BY US." Especially when we "All have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). But IN CHRIST all of
this "come short" is made up, and it is "the fullness of Him that filleth
all in all."
Jesus Christ, the Mediator of the New Covenant, declaring a witness of
LIFE, was never "a maybe, a hope-so, or just a wishful possibility." He
was not a NAY and a YEA-- a nay if... or a yea if... There were no conditional
clauses inserted in the promise. IN HIM ALL THE PROMISES ARE YEA, plainly
asserted, and AMEN, faithfully fulfilled.
That's why in Jesus Christ all the commandments are promises, and all
the promises are guaranteed of fulfillment, for HE IS THE ETERNAL YES.
Through Him they are always YES! Why? Because "It is God who makes us as
well as you SECURE THROUGH OUR UNION WITH CHRIST: and has anointed us,
put His seal upon us, given us His Spirit as a first installment of future
rewards." (2 Corinthians 1:21-22, Williams).
Yes, His testimony is the Spirit of prophecy. "He called those things which
be not as though they were." (Romans 4: 17). He prophesies of the victory--
plainly asserts it! Then He becomes the AMEN, the YES, the Fulfiller of
all that He prophesied. He is the AMEN, the SO BE IT, the I WILL DO IT!
"Having forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of ordinances
that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way,
nailing it to His cross." (Colossians 2:13-14).
It has been well stated that, "The law was against us because it comes
like a taskmaster, bidding us do, but neither putting the inclination into
our hearts nor the power in our hands. It was against us, because the revelation
of unfulfilled duty is the accusation of the defaulter, a revelation to
him of his guilt. It was against us, because it comes with threatenings
and foretastes of penalty and pain. Thus, as STANDARD, ACCUSER, AVENGER,
it is against us."
In glorious contra-distinction to this, in the new covenant, with Christ
as the YEA and AMEN, He says, "I will put My laws into their mind, and
write them in their hearts." (Hebrews 8:10). Thus confirming also Paul's
word, "For it is God Himself whose power creates within you both the desire
and the power to execute His gracious will." (Philippians 2:13, Weymouth).
And, "Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that
justifieth." (Romans 8:33). This is the absolute surety of the New Covenant!
The Mosaic ritual system was to the Gospel Truth what the shadow is to
the man, "a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the
things." The substance belongs to Christ, can only be derived from Him,
and can only be realized through union with Him. HE is the YES! "Christ
liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the
faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me." (Galatians
2:20).
There was no seal of victory in the first covenant. No guarantee provided
which assured us that it would be fulfilled. It was conditional upon man's
doings, and MAN COULD NOT DO IT. In the New Covenant HE stablishes,
anoints, seals, imparting His life, that we might live it out to His glory
and praise. He makes promise for both Himself, and for us, saying, "I will,
and thou shalt... " Then He secures the whole by becoming the INDWELLING
YES!
So while the ministration of the first covenant was of condemnation
unto death, "The soul that sinneth, it shall die." Now we find the ministration
of the New Covenant far excels, for it is a COMMANDMENT UNTO LIFE EVERLASTING.
He says, "We will come unto him, and make our abode with Him " (John 14:23).
It is because HE DWELLS WITHIN, to be that life, that we find this to be
an unconditional YES that verifies the covenant of God. Never a maybe,
never a no. Without any negativism whatsoever, He interposes Himself, places
Himself as totally responsible for the fulfillment of the covenant, both
His part and ours. Certainly there is no doubt that God can keep His part
of any covenant. There is great doubt on man's part, indeed, it has already
been thoroughly proven by the first covenant of the weakness of the flesh;
it was evident right from the beginning, and only grew worse with time.
But when HE takes on the responsibility for our part, then the entire covenant
is secured on a YES. Yes on God's part, yes on our part, for HE IS THAT
ETERNAL YES which guarantees it all. Bless His wonderful name!
The promise is given, "And it shall come to pass... I will pour out
of My Spirit upon all flesh..." (Joel 2:28). When His Spirit has been poured
out upon every man, '"All flesh shall see the salvation of God." (Luke
3:6). For as His Spirit comes to dwell within every creature, He shall
change that creature into His own image, transform them into that new creation
species that HE IS, and thus bring His covenant to fulfillment for every
man.
"I have sworn by Myself the Word is gone out of My mouth in righteousness,
and shall not return, That unto Me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall
swear. Surely, shall one say, IN THE LORD HAVE I RIGHTEOUSNESS and strength."
(Isaiah 45:23-24).
When every man confesses that his righteousness is IN THE LORD, then of
a truth, "The earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of
the Lord, as the waters cover the sea." (Habakkuk 2:14). For this victory
Jesus Christ is the YES! amen!
The witness of man is so earthy,
Of feelings, of passion, of pride.
The physical senses declaring--
Yet oft' in confusion mis-guide.
The witness of Law was against us,
Accusing, for we could not do
The things that its standard required.
The law had no power to endue.
Praise God for His witness, far greater
Than anything spoken by man.
The New Covenant revelation--
Good news of His redemption plan.
For there is a witness of vict'ry,
A witness that comes from above.
Commandment of life and salvation,
How precious this word of His love!
Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Amen,
And all that He says He will do.
The pow'r of His Spirit indwelling,
Guarantees the making anew.
Prophetic-- this word of His promise,
He blesses, yea, speaks well of thee,
A truth He shall bring to fulfillment.
Personified reality!
Our Christ is the YES of the gospel,
The Yea and Amen of all time,
The seal of our vict'ry for ever ,
The Positive One of our rhyme.
