"Call
to Kingdom Authority"
Chapter 13
Whispers of
His Call (1)
by Ray and Doris
Prinzing
"And he that overcometh, and keepeth My works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations. And he shall rule them with a rod of iron... even as I received of My Father." [Revelation 2:26-27].
What a tremendous promise is given to those who are called to this path
of OVERCOMING! They are to receive from Jesus Christ, even as He received
from His Father, that kingdom authority which will enable them to rule
the nations.
"Now is come salvation and strength, and the KINGDOM OF OUR GOD, and the
power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down." [Revelation
12:10].
"Our Father which art in heaven... FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOM, and
the power, and the glory, for ever: amen." [Matthew 6:9, 13].
HIS KINGDOM bespeaks of the manifest authority of our Eternal God.
And Paul well spoke, when he said, "For the kingdom of God is not meat
and drink,. but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the holy Spirit."
[Romans 14:17]. He has always been sovereign, there has never been a time
when He was not totally in charge.
"I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside Me:
I girded thee, though thou hast not known Me: that they may know from the
rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside Me. I am
the Lord, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness:
I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these." [Isaiah 45:5-
7].
He, and He alone is God! He recognizes no other superior authority
for there is none, He is the Supreme, the MOST HIGH. "There is no
God else beside Me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside Me.
Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God,
and there is none else." [Isaiah 45: 21-22].
"A JUST GOD and a Saviour." Or, we might say, He is a SAVIOUR because
He is a JUST GOD. If He were not the Saviour of all men, He would not be
just, for HE is the One who subjected creation to the bondage of vanity
and corruption, having turned man to destruction. [see Romans 8:20,
Psalm 90:3]. Were He not the Saviour, who said also, "Return, ye sons of
men," and then make that return possible, and perform that salvation in
every man, He would not be a JUST GOD. But because there is no other God,
and He is totally righteous in all His works, He can call to "all the ends
of the earth" to look unto Him, and be saved.
It has been well stated that, "There is nothing out of Him that should
be in Him, nothing in Him that should be out of Him. He remembers nothing
because He has forgotten nothing. He learns nothing because there is nothing
that He does not know. HE IS ALL TRUTH!"
Truly He is omniscient-- all-knowing, infinitely wise; He is omnipresent--
present everywhere at once; He is omnipotent-- unlimited in power, ability,
or authority; almighty.
While He is totally the unlimited outreach of all, He is also the true
Eternal Centre of all things, "with Whom there is no variableness, neither
shadow of turning." [John 1:17]. He is the I AM! He does not look
to the past to say, I was; nor does He look to the future to say, I will
be; for He dwells in the eternal centre of I AM. He does not turn to the
past and thereby cast a shadow upon the future. He does not turn to the
future and thereby veil the past in obscurity. But because He is the Eternal
Centre He can deal with past or future in equal manner and capability at
all times, out of the presentness of the I AM. Therefore He was able to
say through the prophet Joel, "I will restore to you the YEARS that the
locust hath eaten..." [Joel 2:25]. Not just a restoration of the blessings
lost, but a restoration of the very time element of which He is in total
control. He can deal with your past just as easily as He can with your
future which, for you, is yet to unfold.
For all of this tremendous greatness, yet He has involved Himself with
us in incarnate humility. "Verily Thou art a God that hidest Thyself, O
God of Israel, the Saviour:" [Isaiah 45:15]. Hiding Himself in the creaturely
form of His own creation, as He "Made Himself of no reputation, and took
upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men." [Philippians
2:7]. So hidden was He in this lowly form, that "He was in the world, (the
world that was made by Him), and the world knew Him not. He came unto His
own, and His own received Him not." [John 1:10-11]. That is the extent
of the humility of Him who is Lord of all-- to so hide Himself in the creaturely
form of His own creation, that He would be unknown by them.
Yet He is also the Almighty One, of Whom we read, "He doeth according to
His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth:
and none can stay His hand, or say unto Him What doest Thou." [Daniel 4:35].
His working is not a euphoric, ethereal, mystic matter, but He
purposes that MAN, coming into his destiny, in realization, AS THE IMAGE
OF GOD, until the universe sees GOD PROJECTING HIMSELF THROUGH REDEEMED
MEN AND WOMEN, to the everlasting praise of His glory.
He said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them
have dominion..." [Genesis 1:26]. In the DIVINE EXPANSION of Himself, to
bring forth man in His own image, indwelt by His Spirit, to share in that
KINGDOM AUTHORITY-- to have dominion over the works of His hands.
Yet man, going his own way in disobedience, rebelled against Divine Authority,
to do his own thing, under the influence of "the spirit that now worketh
(energizeth) the children of disobedience." [Ephesians 2:2]. Therefore
the disciplines of God are upon man, and the chastenings will continue
till man learns that the WAY and WILL OF GOD are far better than his own,
and the Saviour comes to "save His people from their sins." [Matthew 1:21].
The religious systems (rightly called Babylon) have promoted the Satanic
bluff, the LIE; that when Adam forsook and abdicated his God-given authority,
that Satan took it over, i.e. that man relinquished this authority to Satan.
So there are those who consider Satan to be equal with God, as if some
awful struggle is going on, the outcome of which they still are not sure.
That is blasphemy!
God has always been, always is, and always will be in total control.
He is not in an eternal struggle with evil. He has purposed evil for wise
ends, and when those ends have been accomplished, evil will cease to exist.
Though the last enemy to be destroyed is death, when death is destroyed,
it is self-evident that none remains. While God, who is Light, and in Whom
there is no darkness, shall be ALL IN ALL-- everything to everyone.
When Adam forfeited his authority, Satan did not get that authority from
Adam. God took it out of Adam's hand, and HE KEEPS IT until one shall come
who can handle that load of responsibility. If we may borrow the words
from Ezekiel 21:26-27, "Thus saith the Lord God; Remove the diadem, and
take off the crown: this shall not be the same; exalt him that is low,
and abase him that is high. I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and
it shall be no more until he come whose right it is; and I will give it
him."
The promise is clear, "To him that overcometh... to him will I give
power..." Not that Satan will return it back to man again, for Satan never
had it to give. GOD HAS ALWAYS RETAINED FULL CONTROL, and therefore HE
shall give that authority to those whom He has prepared for that dominion.
Truly, "The earth is the Lord's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and
they that dwell therein." [Psalm 24:1].
You ask: but what about the verse that reads, "the god of this world hath
blinded..." [2 Corinthians 4:4], or, "the prince of the power of the air..."
[Ephesians 2:2].
So let me answer: Jesus spoke of a people, "They are not " of the world,
even as I am not of the world." [John 17:14]. Then what world is Satan
a prince and a power over? We say, he is over moral intelligences who submit
to his lying reign, and those who are "taken captive by him at his will."
[2 Timothy 2:26].
But we are NOT OF THIS WORLD, i.e. of that which yields itself to his influence,
WE ARE IN A WORLD THAT BELONGS TO GOD. Satin is not my god, nor is he my
prince. I dwell on the earth that IS the Lord's, and the fullness thereof.
I recognize only one GOD over this present kosmos, world arrangement.
"For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained (ordered)
of God." [Romans 13:1]. His control is absolute, including the control
over the interplay of good and evil.
"For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die
unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, WE ARE THE LORD'S." [Romans
14:8]. We are HIS POSSESSION, and His alone, no other authority has any
rights over us. We submit to all lesser powers as unto GOD, and will pay
tribute to whom tribute is due, AS UNTO THE LORD. We are HIS!
"GOD, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto
the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by
His Son." [Hebrews 1:1-2].
HE REIGNED from heaven, and Israel rebelled against His reign, and said,
"Make us a king to judge us like all the nations." [1 Samuel 8:5]. Samuel
was very distressed by this request, and he wept before the Lord over this,
and God spoke to him, [ verse 7], "they have not rejected thee, but they
have rejected ME, that I should not reign over them."
God spake by His prophets, so they stoned His prophets.
Then He sent them His SON. "The chief priests and the elders of the people
came unto Him as He was teaching, and said, By what authority doest Thou
these things? and who gave Thee this authority?" [Matthew 21:23].
Again, "They questioned among themselves, saying, What , thing is this?
what new doctrine is this? for WITH AUTHORITY commandeth He even the unclean
spirits, and they do obey Him." [Mark 1:27].
It was a marvel to them, for here was one WITH authority, "and not as the
scribes." The scribes would quote from others, relying upon others for
their authority, and their verification, etc. Jesus taught them as one
who possessed this INNER AUTHORITY to utter and do those things. He spoke
and acted as having that authority IN HIMSELF, not derived from others.
HE SPOKE ON HIS OWN!
In some ways we see this same thing today. People are so used to hearing
the messages spoken by rote, quoting the doctrines and traditions of men
over and over. When one comes along and speaks a word by revelation, out
of the indwelling Spirit of God, they ask, by what right do they speak
this? How dare he go against the creed and dogma of the religious institution
and speak such things? We have never heard it this way before!
There are two Greek words which have been translated as "power." One of
them is "dunamis" meaning: ability; and from which root we get both of
our English words: dynamite, and dynamo. Dynamite bespeaks of that explosive
energy, often destructive in its nature unless very carefully handled.
A dynamo bespeaks of a more controlled energy with a continuous supply.
God's kingdom is a law of order. God is not producing sons who will use
His power in undisciplined action to dynamite out everything that stands
in their way. His sons will move in precise order, harmony, purpose, with
the controlled power in sufficient supply to carry out His will at all
times. There will not be displays of the soulish, wild nature of the flesh,
for it will all have been dealt with by His cross. One in His Spirit, all
power will be manifested to His praise and glory. For HIS WISDOM will enable
His own to use the EXPLOSIVE power controlled to meet the need, not to
be destructive. And His enablement will be such that as a glorious dynamo
supplying, there will always be enough to accomplish the task.
The other Greek word often translated as "power" is "exousia" meaning:
authority. Significant that it comes from a root that means: "to be out,"
and is used of that authority which a person has which has been delegated
to him from someone else. The person delegating the authority is, in a
sense, out of himself, and acting in the person to whom he has delegated that authority.
So the word comes to mean "the power of authority," or, we might say, "delegated
authority." It is, as if God is saying, I am going out of Myself, and into
yourself, to be in you that authority.
Turning our eyes again to our Lord Jesus Christ, our example in all things.
AS GOD, HE WAS THE AUTHORITY, it was IN HIMSELF. And truly,
"God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself." [2 Corinthians
5:19]. The Father, indwelling the Son, was the RESIDENT AUTHORITY.
No wonder He spoke as no other man spoke, for He spoke out of Himself as
the SOURCE. For in the realm of HIS divinity He was very God.
But in the sense that He was "a man" His authority did come from another,
His Father. So either as a man, or as GOD, He still had the selfsame authority.
As a man, He said, "I can of my own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge;
and My judgment is just, because I seek not Mine own will, but the will
of the Father which sent Me." [John 5:30]. Again, "The words that
I speak unto you I speak not of Myself; but the Father that dwelleth
in Me, He doeth the works." [John 14:10].
When "the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us," [John 1:14], there
was a union of humanity and Divinity. When He spoke out of His Divinity
He spoke with absolute authority. When He spoke out of His humanity He
spoke by the delegated authority of His Father. Thus it was GOD'S AUTHORITY
all the way!
Now He has promised, Matthew 16:18, "I will build My church; and the
gates of hell shall not prevail against it." The word "hell" coming from
the Greek word "hades" literally means: the unseen state. And this unseen
state is often used as a symbol of death. Death also is viewed as the gate
to the unseen, the invisible world. Thus as symbolic language, the phrase
"the gates of hell" could be taken to mean "the gates of death."
Job 38:17, "Have the gates of death been opened ,unto thee? or hast thou
seen the doors of the shadow of death?
Revelation 3:7, "These things saith He that is holy, He that is True, He
that hath the key of David, He that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth,
and no man openeth."
EVERY GATE WILL OPEN UNTO HIM! He has absolute authority! He came and walked
a route of conquest. When He builds there is nought that can prevail
against Him. Even death cannot withstand His authority. HE EVER LIVETH,
and therefore is able to bring to a successful conclusion whatever He begins.
When it came time for Him to face Calvary itself, He said, "Father; save
Me from this hour: but FOR THIS CAUSE CAME I TO THIS HOUR," [John 12:27].
(Editor's note: This translation of John 12:27 bears witness with the translation
of Matt. 27:45-47 as interpreted in the book written by G. M. Lamsa,
IDIOMS
IN THE BIBLE EXPLAINED. End of note).
Triumphantly He faced it, and triumphantly He went on and "spoiled principalities
and powers, He made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it."
[Colossians 2:15].
Thus He fulfilled Hosea 13:14, "I will ransom them from the power of the
grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O
grave, I will be thy destruction." [Hosea 13:14].
Truly, when He said, "the gates of hell shall not prevail," He knew He
had full authority over all other powers and dominions. Even death could
not resist His authority, and when HE SPOKE LIFE, death was no more. He
stood before the grave of Lazarus, and said, "Come forth. And he that was
dead came forth..." [John 11:43-44].
"Unto the Son He saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre
of righteousness is the sceptre of Thy kingdom. --Sit on My right hand,
until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool." [Hebrews 1:8, 13].
"I also overcame, and am set down with My Father in His throne." [Revelation
3:21].
A THRONE, full domination, total power and authority -- "For He must reign,
till he hath put all enemies under His feet." [1 Corinthians 15:25].
Let it be clearly stated, there has been no delayed activity, HE IS
REIGNING NOW, He is continually working "all things after the counsel of
His own will." [Ephesians 1:11]. He is ruling from His throne NOW!
But there is within Him such a vast, boundless love, that He desires to
share of this throne, and He calls for His people to overcome, that we
might "sit down with Him in His throne," EVEN AS He has received
of His Father. To reign, not out of our flesh, not out of our humanity,
not out of our self-ego, but out of the "CHRIST WITHIN YOU." [Colossians
1:27].
1 John 5:10, "He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness IN HIMSELF."
This becomes an inherent, indwelling authority. He brings His rights with
Him, and gives us this authority, so that we act in His name, living out
His rights, for they have become our rights. There is a sharing of the
throne! The qualifications are so high, so holy, so pure, that only HE,
living HIS LIFE in us, qualifies. But He gave His all, that we might "become
the righteousness of God in Him." [2 Corinthians 5:21].
There cometh an hour when the sons of God shall move with the delegated,
yea, indwelling authority of God, to establish His kingdom of righteousness
in the earth. What a processing is needed to bring us to that hour. To
be so crucified with Christ, that only His life is lived through us. Then
shall be fulfilled that promise, "The Lord shall send the rod of Thy strength
out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies." [Psalm 110:2]. Not
until they have been brought to Zion, into this union of oneness with Him,
will He send them forth out of Zion to rule until all enemies have been
subdued under HIS FEET. Then shall HE be all and in all. Praise God!
Kingdom authority -
A strange word to my ears,
So long I've felt the vanity,
The weakness of the flesh,
And wondered how it all would end,
Deliv'rance from this mesh.
Kingdom authority -
In Christ alone I see
This working in reality,
A power so divine
That nought can stand against His will,
He makes the night to shine.
Kingdom authority -
To this He calls thee now,
To overcome and share His throne,
To find that He in thee
Speaks forth a word victorious,
To walk in liberty.
Kingdom authority -
A prize He hath reserved
For sons and daughters of His love,
Who in Him become one,
Possess the kingdom to His praise,
And magnify His Son!
