 Stanley
House Boy Stanley came to work as an occasional house boy about 1978, when I lived on Hugo Street in San Francisco. Most people don't know [until now] that Stanley hails from Baltimore. I quickly came to know him as the prototype "good news/bad news" character. The good news was his bill which was quite reasonable, when he actually took time to proffer one. Neither did Stanley filch nor break knickknacks. On the down-side, however, Stanley was famous for never doing a lick of work. Never. Ever. Not a whit. Stanley never even showed up. That was his problem. Stanley Parking Space But it turned out Stanley was much better OUT of the house than IN. Put quite simply, when Stanley is working for you there will be a place to park your car when you get there, often a place directly in front of your destination. Faith is not an issue because Stanley is neither a fairy nor an angel. And how Stanley does his manly work, none of us have figured it out, but there is substantial evidence Stanley can be at work in two places at one time. |
