Department of Poetic Licensure
& Undocumented Aliens
I'm goin' back south to Roswell.
Got my ride to take back home
Who sent me down to planet earth
Been some fifty years alone.
Been some fifty years alone.

But that UFO momma ship is out there,
Been acrossin' those galaxies so wide
While I got down on mother earth.
And all the other dummies died

When the ranchers started chasin' us
Through their trailer parks and bars.
With pitch forks and shotguns
But Jess Marcel had an Army car.

He took us to his family home
I guess he didn't have a kodachrome
He showed the icons to his son
Then he took us out and put us on
That Air Force base got chilly

For so early in July,
When they hung us out in hangers
And hung you'all out to dry.
And hung you'all out to dry.
So disconnect the teletypes

Cut all the long distance lines
Blow up every flashbulb
You got to leave those cameras behind,
You got to leave those cameras behind.

Deny any rumor(s) and
plow the fields under.
You think I'm an alien,
You think I might wander?
