Fa[r]ther, Once Again
A boy is a child,
each
man has a father
Some men raise
their children,
though others don’t bother.
There are fathers
for
daughters and fathers for sons
and fathers for
fathers.
Each mother has one.
And some fathers
don’t
get it, and others work hard.
Some fathers bring
bacon.
Some fathers churn lard.
And the men; they
are
the fathers who try to stay home
And the men; they
are
the fathers do nothing but roam
And the men; who
are angry
and feeling resigned
And the men; with
a conscience
and the men with a mind.
People are
parents. In
a family find the children of children,
the men of
mankind.
