Murphy's Justice
'Murphy au jus'
Have you heard about Capt.
Edward Aloysius Murphy?
He named himself that famous
Law.
"Things break down," proved
Capt. Murphy.
And everybody knows just
what he saw.
Your car won't start, you
can't afford it
And next the pay phone eats
both your dimes
You're late to work. Your
boss is fumin'
Murphy's had the last word
one more time.
Laws are laws. They're
only human,
And Murphy's Law's
just the same.
When it breaks down,
or it is broken
Captain Murphy's not
to blame.
Lady Luck was surely smilin'
The night I wagered number
'Ten'.
Was Murphy's Law non compus
mentis?
Bet it on 'Ten" and I won
again.
So who's to blame?
Ask Capt. Murphy
If you want a reason why
you're feelin' stuck.
But who's in charge?
Ask Mrs. Murphy
Before they met she was Lady
Luck.
So now you've heard all about
Capt. Murphy,
And all about his famous
Law.
It's up to you, proved Capt.
Murphy.
Don't ask me why. It's
just because.
Laws are laws.
They're only human.
And Murphy's Law just
the same.
When it breaks down,
or it is broken
Captain Murphy's not
to blame.
