On Saturday, May 13, 2000, I had the pleasure of having breakfast with Don Murray (pictured at left). He drove up to Norfolk to discuss the 330 BG web pages that we are developing for the B-29 Superfortress Then and Now web site. Stay tuned - should be on the site by June.

At Saturday (May 13, 2000) Business Meeting

The business meeting lasted from 09:00 until 10:30. Reports were read, amendments were made, discussions on the 2201 and 2002 reunions were held and a presentation was made by Michael Friedline of the Museum of Flight in Seattle.

There was also a special presentation made to the Charter Members. They each received a $20 bill and a certificate as this is what they started the 73rd BW Association with in 1974.

I did not take any photographs at the Ladies' Luncheon. We had a great meal and the entertainment following the meal was a magic show. I was picked (not by my choice) to assist the magician. Being the crazy lady I am, I almost stole the show . . .

The afternoon was again spent touring the memorabilia rooms and meeting and talking with new people. Two of the new people I met are shown below.

Norm Garrick and his lovely wife, Joyce

Saturday night was the Dinner Dance and special recognition. After dining they had the Proud :line Up as we all stood and sang The Air Corps Song.

Our own Joe Simonds and his wife Margaret.
Joe received and award for his service to the 73rd.

Hap, Sallyann and Jim Reifenschneider (her dad-in-law)

Sallyann and Bob share a joke!

Jean and Bob Goldsworthy

Dancing at right is my father-in-law Jim Reifenschneider and his wife Pat.

On Saturday night around 11:00 the lights went out in Norfolk. Luckily, I was already in my room, albeit in my pajamas. Everyone on our floor peeked their heads out of their rooms to see if we were all in the dark. We were and so were the people trapped in the elevator. One of the substations lost power and the entire section of the waterfront was running on emergency generators. After making sure the people were saved from the elevators, the women of the 73rd, of the 8th floor, decided to make a party of it!

All are unidentified as we did not SLEEP with our badges on!

We had quite an exciting and fun nite. It was certainly the icing on the cake for a memorable weekend for me. (PS - one of the men woke up in the midst of our partying!)

After an early breakfast buffet on Sunday morning, I returned home to Snellville with a heart full of love and a mind full of wonderful memories! Many thanks to the men and women of the 73rd!
