In ancient India,
Sage Valmiki lived with his disciples in a forest on the banks of the river Tamasa. They lived a life of meditation and prayer living in
ashrams (simple huts) woven from tree branches, leaves and grass.
One morning, the celestial Sage Narada paid a visit to Valmiki's ashram. After receiving the Sage respectfully, Valmiki asked Narada: "O, all-knowing Sage, Tell me, Who among men is the greatest in virtues and wisdom? Who is accomplished, learned, powerful, beautiful, truthful, and cares for all creatures?"
