This is what many young people in East Berlin imagined life to be like
in West Berlin. In fact, American soldiers slogging through the jungles
in Vietnam may have also thought this is what life was like for the American
soldiers stationed in Berlin. However, for those of us in Berlin
Brigade, it was just nice to enjoy the fact that beautiful automobiles
and tree-shaded streets existed around us. And, even if we did not
have the opportunity to gather the D-marks or the dollars to buy this car,
there always was a park bench and the greenery to enjoy.
