Berlin 1969 - on the hinge of history

Berlin-Zehlendorf

 in motion

In 1971, I had the opportunity to use a Super-8 mm motion picture camera for a brief period.  To get the feel of it, I shot two rolls of film in my "home" district of Zehlendorf.  Scenes shot during that summer show everday afternoons in the vicinity of the Krumme Lanke, Onkel-Toms-Huette and Oskar-Helene-Heim U-Bahn stations, as well as the U.S. Army PX and Brigade Headquarters.  Berliners run for double-decker buses, big American cars mix with Volkswagens, and a friend, SP5 Terry Jackson walks by and gives the camera a wave.  Is someone you know in these YouTube pictures?
