Fish are smarter than they look.  Not due to their large brains.  But,   due to their  instinctual connection to their species universal mind

After a while, my experience in sculpture class  came in handy as I began preserving my fishy catches with plaster casts.
three fishes photo    The first fishes were cast in concrete with rough monochromatic appearance.  They often took months to complete.  Over the years, I applied my real scientific quest for knowledge as I experimented with various casting techniques, rubbers, media, and paints.  I discovered (due to the infinite nature of the universe) that there will always be more to learn...

We got up early and hooked this one on a dough ball.

This 7 pounder was the first one that I casted with polyester resin after making a plaster mold.

This 14 pounder was my first monster catfish.

A favorite casting....

Roughly  38"x16"

this would be a good one for catfish restaurants...

This monster weighed 22 lbs.  The casting measures 46" x 19"

This one weighed about 12 pounds. These models were originally molded in plaster, casted in fiberglass, and finished with acrylic paints..

10.04 New addition to the fish family  New Blue Catfish  22lb.
the newest and bestest
This one is framed with natural wood limbs and the watery background and the rocks are cast with recycled glass..  It is backlit with blue lights which gives a real neat effect for late nite viewing.
This one is so nice I am considering a limited edition reproduction.  It would be very nice in catfish restaurants.  The reproductions would be a large expense in molds, materials and time.  Reproductions will be pre-sold for $900.  Tell your family, friends and catfish lovers...  Let me know what you think!  say  I want a big Blue Catfish

Fishing has been a mixture of Art and Science for me.
These fishes were caught on hook and line at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, USA  None were caused to suffer during  casting... check out my wild fish story...
