Care of Ducklings <-- Updated 5/16/2000
June 14, 2000 -- Wow! Ducklings grow fast! The ducks are now eight weeks old and almost to their adult size. Their flight feathers are coming in and they are flapping around trying to fly. I will try to post some new pictures of them soon. We have just arrived home from our honeymoon (yeah) so things are a little busy.
Currently we are feeding them "Game Bird Chow" maintenance by Purina. They seem to do very well on that. They also get supplements with lettuce.
Oh, by the way, we named them when we didn't know which were boys and girls - so now we have a girl with a boy's name. Oh well!
Sydney is a male, Richard is a female, Erin is a female, & Spaz is a male.
February 3, 2001 --- Finally, at long last an update. I am sorry to report that we no longer have our ducks. When we moved in to our new house, our new neighbors had a fit that we had ducks. They called the police on us and other unfriendly things. We did not want to start a war after just moving into the neigbhorhood, although we do feel that are new residence was well suited for the ducks. So we gave the ducks to a wildlife protection society, where they were welcomed with open arms. So, I am sorry to say that there will be no future updates on the ducks.
For those seeking additional information on ducks, please check out Quacker's website. This is a very informative site!
