Welcome to the MOTELS FOR TRAIN WATCHERS website!  The original printed guide of the same name was the creation of our friend, Ken Bordelon, who compiled a listing of hotels, motels and inns located directly on rail lines in the United States with views of the tracks from at least some of the rooms.  The listings were gathered from Ken's travels since 1967, plus many contributions from fellow rail enthusiasts.  With his help (namely, his August 1998 list) and good wishes, we are maintaining the guide on the Internet.


The successful growth of this site is all about your e-mails - adding locations, making corrections, and removing those which are no longer valid.  Keep in mind that this is just a guide, not an endorsement of any property nor a guarantee of quality, service or condition of the properties.  Please note, too, that these locations have not necessarily been verified.  Check the List O' Links Motel/Hotel Sites of Interest to see additional listings of unique lodgings that are railfan-friendly with something special.
