Many skeptics question the validity of orbs and believe they may actually be dust, pollen, or moisture captured during the flash process of a camera. Those involved in the paranormal area say that they are a gathering of some form of energy whether it be after an electrical storm, from power lines, etc. The jury is still out in this regard but my personal feelings are that spirit is a form of energy and can manifest in many forms, from the weakest orb to a full body apparition and all points in between.

UPDATE: I recently purchased a new book entitled The Orb Project and now feel I have an even better understanding of this phenomena.  Anyone interested in this area should definitely read the book - it is very enlightening and well written by two very educated men who have studied this phenomena extensively.

Míċeál Ledwith and Klaus Heinemann present such concise information, both on a quantum physics and a theological basis, that I am now very comfortable with what is going on. My questioning why it seems one must take a number of photographs before things start appearing was also finally answered. They also make good suggestions on checking your camera for sensitivity (which I have done) as well as the best way to manage the photographs after they are downloaded.

After following their wonderful suggestions I have decided to add a specific page dealing with the first dramatic SE pictures I was able to take in mid-December 2007.  The link to this new page can be found below.

When I took the cemetery pictures below a total 54 photographs had been shot. The only time dramatic anomalies showed up on camera was during EVP activity. The evening was calm, the night was moon-dark, and there had been no rain for quite some time.

I took these pictures with my 2007 6 mega pixel Samsung S630 digital camera set to night scene and super fine; the only alteration done to any night-shot photograph was to increase brightness.

Spirit Emanations (Orbs)

When the above two pictures were taken an EVP of what sounds like a little boy's voice was also captured on my digital recorder. Right after the flash of my camera the little one seemed to be asking possibly two other spirits by the name of Paul and Lucy "Did you see that?".

Because I live in a very astral-active location, a deeply forested and glorious piece of paradise, I seem to know when I should go adoors and take some photographs. On several occasions during November 2007 I had a serious sensation that I was not alone so I grabbed my camera and walked through our forest  Just as I suspected, I was not alone. My husband firmly believes that the two constant orbs captured in one specific place are his deceased parents. There are no power lines nearby and the weather had been extremely calm.

When I took the pictures below I actually saw the orbs before I took a shot. I was in the house and had the urge to go adoors, as if someone was calling me. I am so glad I did because there were so many Beings out there ... they were everywhere it seemed.

Something VERY odd floating above my house! According to The Orb Project this is referred to as a plasma field or "plasmoid."

Light Rods and Tubes

Plasma or Energy Lights & Rods: Sometimes spirit will manifest in a pure energy form. They may appear as rods of light or swirling & streaking beams of light, sometimes in colors. This is the most common type of light energy that shows up on photos. They can be spotted anywhere, but are more likely to be seen in cemeteries and usually appear as bright lines or streams of light whizzing in and out of the frame. The photograph below shows a light anomaly in the upper left corner. There were no electrical services within the area and I neither heard nor felt any flying insects.

The above shots of a light rod moving across an open field made me shudder a bit. There was positively no one around, no lights from homes or the like. I saw it with the naked eye and was able to capture two pictures before it disappeared.

Tubes

Not long ago I captured, in two 10-second apart digital images, what appears to be a light tube. From research I learned that this anomaly may be a very fast-moving orb/spirit emanation.

More Orbs

The above is quite a blurry picture of my momma kitty tending to her little ones. I took this shot one evening while standing on my back deck and was a bit stunned.

The evening I shot the above pictures I literally felt movement. The evening was particularly warm for winter and all of a sudden I felt a serious chill in the air, the hairs on my arms and neck stood up drastically so I began to shoot pictures. I actually reached out in order to feel the orb in the first picture...it was virtually in my face and there was no doubt in my mind that something was there.

In the right photo there are two orbs visible on the easy chair and one directly in the center top of the picture. Thanks, Diane, for submitting the above...your home is a busy one but we have known that for ages.

Ghost snake

The story: After we moved to our property in 1997 I dug a small pond out by our back deck. Shortly thereafter frogs decided to move in. Along with them came black snakes looking for lunch. My husband, Dan, got so tired of me whining about the snakes murdering 'my frogs' that he took things a bit too far.

I DO NOT believe in killing anything unless there is imminent danger. Snakes eating frogs is a normal, food-chain, thing and I did not want Dan to harm anything. But he did.

He went out and literally clubbed a snake to death one day. I freaked out totally. The next day I went out to look at the pond and there was a seriously beaten up, open bloody wounds and all, snake peering at me over one of the rocks by the pond. He was almost white in color and his eyes were a steel gray color. Extremely eerie as he just stared at me.

I kept my camera by the back door and went to get it....a matter of seconds in time. When I turned to take a picture the snake was gone.

That night I asked Dan if he was certain he'd killed the snake. He was and asked why. I told him and he thought I was nuts - of course.

Later in the evening Dan was on the couch, snuggling with our dog, Brutus, so I decided to take some pictures of the two of them. When I had the film developed I was once again blown away. The photos before and after the one below do not have the extra image. There was no light leak and it's not string, hair or thread...it has scales! Take a look at these... the regular photo and then a close-up of the ghost snake, as I call it. As you can see it is not woven, hair or thread...it definitely has scales.

Some have suggested that the image is the strap on my camera or the string from sweat pants. I do not own white sweat pants and the strap on my camera is a 2-inch wide, flat, black fabric. I do not see how on earth a solid black camera strap with a faint blue stripe on each side could become stark white, stripe-less, and scaled in appearance. If I owned white sweat pants I'd have to literally be a contortionist for the string to be in the image. I also scanned the strings on the shawl on the couch and the extra image is not one of those either.

Spirit eyes

The story: Once we settled in our new home we had our families visit for Thanksgiving. In the ten years Dan and I had been together at that point the respective in-laws had never met. We had kept both sides apart  due to the old, and what I feel is utterly absurd, feud between the English and Irish - my die-hard English mother totally hating anything or anybody Irish.

Our mothers finally coming within close proximity made us quite apprehensive but Dan's mother was so very special, down to earth, and real and my mother managed to accept everyone so things appeared to work out nicely.

I asked my mother-in-law and mother to pose so my youngest daughter could take a picture of this important event. After Dawn had her film developed she found something rather odd in the picture and sent me the original. I was a bit stunned to say the least.

Here's the rather innocuous photo of them. My mom-in-law, Margaret (now deceased), is on the left; my mother on the right. They are standing just inside my den, right off the kitchen/dining entranceway.

Now....if you zoom in on my mom-in-law's eyeglasses - in her hand - you will see Spirit. This is NOT a reflection nor has the photograph been tampered with in any way!

A psychic I sent the photo to suggested that the spiritual essence of the wearer can imbed itself within eyeglasses if they aren't rinsed with cold water each morning. However, the eyes in my mom-in-law's glasses aren't hers! Matter of fact, they look a great deal like mine but I was quite far away from them and behind my daughter who took the picture. Note that the eyes are upside down in relation to the glasses, they are at an angle coinciding with the position of the glasses, each eye appears to be different, and you can distinctly see the shadow of my mom-in-law's fingers on the glass. Very odd indeed.
