Our little family formed, we left Christchurch for Tekapo. After settling in at the motel we had a "starter" hike to a lookout above Lake Tekapo. Dinner was at Pepe's where several, well, more than several, bottles of New Zealand wines broke down any remnants of reserve in the group.
